TableTez ("TableTez", "we", "us", or "our") operates a WhatsApp-based table reservation bot ("the Service") on behalf of restaurants that subscribe to our platform ("Restaurant Partners"). This policy explains what information we collect through the Service, why we collect it, and how it's handled — whether you're a diner messaging one of our WhatsApp numbers or a restaurant using TableTez to manage reservations.
Because the Service runs on WhatsApp, some information is collected and processed automatically by WhatsApp / Meta as the messaging platform, separately from what TableTez itself stores. We explain both below.
1. What we collect
a) Information diners share with the WhatsApp bot
When you message a restaurant's TableTez WhatsApp number to make a reservation, the bot collects the details needed to book your table, which may include:
- Your WhatsApp phone number — used to identify your conversation and send confirmations or reminders
- Your name — as provided during the booking conversation
- Reservation details — date, time, and party size
- Message content — the text of your conversation with the bot, including any special requests you mention (e.g. seating preferences, dietary notes, occasion)
- WhatsApp profile information — such as your WhatsApp display name and profile photo, if visible per your WhatsApp privacy settings
b) Information collected automatically
- Message metadata — timestamps, delivery/read status, and conversation history, as provided by the WhatsApp Business Platform
- Basic technical data — such as device or connection information that WhatsApp itself may process to deliver messages (this is governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy, not directly by TableTez)
c) Information from Restaurant Partners
Restaurant staff who use our check-in interface may view and manage diner reservation details (name, phone number, time, party size, status) in order to run day-to-day operations, and may enter internal notes related to a booking (e.g. "regular guest," "requested outdoor seating").
d) Information submitted through this website
If you fill out the "Request a Demo" form on this website, we collect your name, restaurant name, phone number, email address, and any message you include, solely to respond to your inquiry.
2. Why we collect it

- To maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the reliability of the Service
- To respond to demo requests and questions submitted through this website
We do not use diner conversation data for advertising, and we do not sell personal information to third parties.
4. Who your information is shared with
- The specific restaurant you message — since the whole point of the Service is to get your reservation to that restaurant's staff
- WhatsApp / Meta — as the underlying messaging platform that carries the conversation, subject to Meta's own privacy policy and terms
- Service providers who help us run the platform — such as hosting and infrastructure providers, bound to only use data as needed to provide their service to us
We do not share diner data with other restaurants, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Data retention
We retain reservation and conversation data for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the Service for the relevant Restaurant Partner, and to maintain accurate booking records. If a restaurant's subscription ends, we deactivate their bot and retain historical data only as needed for legitimate business, legal, or record-keeping purposes, after which it is deleted or anonymized.
6. Your choices
- You can stop a conversation with the bot at any time by simply not replying — no account or profile is created beyond what's needed for that reservation.
- You can request that we delete personal information associated with your phone number by contacting us at the email below, subject to any records the restaurant or we are legally required to retain.
- You control what WhatsApp itself shares (such as your profile photo and display name) through your own WhatsApp privacy settings.
7. Data security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information collected through the Service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work to protect your data, we can't guarantee absolute security.
8. Restaurants' responsibilities
Restaurant Partners are responsible for their own WhatsApp Business account setup and for using reservation data provided through TableTez appropriately — for restaurant operations, not for unrelated marketing without proper consent.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for use by adults making restaurant reservations and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the Service evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
